Do You Celebrate Valentine's Day?
I did a poll on my instagram account, asking "What is today for you?"
I also did a poll on YouTube, asking the same question.
So here's what I get from the results: It's either everyone has outgrown Valentine's Day, everyone is bitter, or I'm just clueless. When did we all start hating Valentine's Day? HAHA. I get it, it's really gimmicky and it's just another way for companies to make money off us by selling AWESOME treats like chocolate-covered fruits (yumma), flowers, candy, cards and other AWESOMENESS.
Roody and I have actually treated this Valentine's Day like "just another day." For now. We plan to go out when the boys are asleep and exchange gifts. Then tomorrow night until Saturday evening, we're going away to the Adirondacks to enjoy each other's company, away from dirty diapers and tantrums.
Kiara E. plans to spend the day with her boyfriend, and Greylady44 is going to appreciate herself and spend the day with loved ones. Shurva's birthday is on Friday, so she doesn't make Valentine's Day a big deal. But Malone & Kerline are totally against the holiday and don't believe that one day should be dedicated to express love.
As for me, I believe that Valentine's Day is a day to show your loved ones EXTRA love. There's nothing wrong with taking a single day out of the year to do that, especially when you usually do it year-round. And so what if you're not the expressive type? So what if you literally only shower your significant other with love on Valentine's Day, your anniversary or other holidays? There's nothing wrong with that either. As long as your significant other feels loved, it's fine in my book.
What say ye?
