Flying to St. Croix!
Roody & I recently got back from our vacation, and we haven’t been able to stop talk about it! We just posted an extensive “Story Time” video about us flight to the beautiful island of St. Croix, including our layover in Puerto Rico. That’s actually the point where we started taking photos.
I think the excitement of being just a couple hours away from the start of our vacation got to us, because we were TOTALLY acting like tourists haha.
We had never flown with Seaborne Airlines before, so we didn’t realize how small the plan was. I felt like I was flying on a private jet.
I had bubble guts during the entire ride and totally blew up the bathroom as soon as we landed. I was so embarrassed. But I hurried off the plane and found Roody smiling and waiting for me. We walked through the airport and saw the car rental spots. We decided to go with Budget because their sign said that they take debit cards.
It’s a good thing our cell service and Apple Maps worked, because I’m not sure how we would have found our way to the B&B otherwise. Our host, Liz, messaged us the directions, but we’re spoiled and used to Siri telling us where to go :D
We booked our B&B through AirBnB, which we strongly recommend. The hotels in the area that included free breakfast were more expensive than we anticipated, and I feel like this option was more personable. We were totally blown away when we arrived at our B&B. The view was AMAZING, and the site was absolutely beautiful.
We chatted with Liz for a little bit and then headed inside to take a load off.
Liz gave us quite a few restaurant options for dinner, and we decided to go with Duggan’s Reef. It was just a 10 minute drive away from the B&B.
We didn’t make a reservation. Just walked right up in there and were seated within a couple minutes. They didn’t have the most extensive menu, but the food was good.
I ordered a huge bowl of lobster bisque. I probably should have gone with the cup, but I felt like being greedy. I got a Piña Colada to drink. The pork chops were very tender and yummy. I saved one of them to have as lunch the next day. Roody ordered the fried chicken, steak fries and a cheesy rice side. He ate some, but he saved it as well.
I think we were just both really tired and ready to just go back to the B&B and relax. We went to bed SUPER early. Like about midnight. It was a really good first day!
